9/11

911 seems like it was yesterday. I was in the fourth grade in washington school. I remember people getting called down faster and faster and eventually my dad called me out. he took me home and didnt tell me what was going on until he put the news on. i remember seeing the towers falling and thought it was a joke. i thought how could they do somehting on such a large scale. i dont think i ever felt so much hate for someone after seeing videos of them in the street burning american flags and celebrating.

I dont know why we are still at war. we are fighting their war and it really should be none of our business. i think they should pull out the troops immediately.

Its Earth Day!!!!!!!!!!

Earth day is by far my favorite day of the year! Did you know that more than 20,000,000 Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using 133 square miles of tinfoil. All that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it. Did you also know that if every newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year. Unfortunately only 27% of all American newspapers are recycled. CRAZIEEE!

I learned a lot of new things about Haiti this week. I learned that it was connected to Dominican Republic...for some reason I didn't know that. I found it cool that they decided to donate all those fresh clothes to the kids that were affected. I also did not know that there are a lot of slums...i thought it was beautiful tropical island. CRAZIE!!!!

Huuriiicannnneeee season

i thought this was a really good movie. it really showed the american spirit and how as an overall city and nation we can come together as one. the team represents the city of new orleans and how they overcome, is how the city will overcome. I am surprised that the movie didnt make a name for itself and that i never heard of it.

The natural disaster that interests me the most is tornadoes. I think they are the most interesting just by the way they look. They are one of the most powerful storms, creating a lot of damage.

One major natural disaster that has occured recently is the earthquake in Haiti. This was one of the worste earthquakes in years and it hit a very populated part of Haiti. It killed over 300000 people, and left others homeless and injured.

The families from Haiti have been recieving a lot of help from around the world. A lot of countries have been holding fundraisers and donating food and supplies. We have only been smally effected by small storms, like the one about a week ago which tore down a lot of trees and killed a couple people.

My favorite place in the world...

my favorite place I have ever been would have to be puerto rico. We went for about a week last year to a beach resort called the Rio Mar. It was a relaxing trip and food was awesom. I gained ten pounds. The sun was out every day and the weather was perfect. The ocean down there is crystal clear too which was cool. The coordinates of puerto rico are 18 15 N, 66 30 W, which is in the Caribean, east of Dominican Republic.

It has always been there for me even in the toughest of times, and that is why I am so excited about embarking on this journey through the land of Geography! =] I think my addiction started about 18 years ago...I'm 17.
